The Year 8 boys travelled to CCA and started extremely strongly. Harwich payed a 4-2-3-1 formation which CCA could not handle. This lead to Harwich scoring 3 goals inside the first 8 minutes. Sam Cooke, Josh Wells and Jack James on the scoresheet early. Harwich continued their total dominance with Lewis Grubb and Mitchell Peircy pulling the strings in midfield and Jack James tormenting the CCA defence. Harwich went into half time leading 5-0 with Sam Cooke adding to his earlier effort and Liam Sanderson grabbing a traditional centre half goal.
Harwich to their credit continued to push forward and dominate the game despite a host of changes during the game and the majority of the team playing out of their normal position. Kyle Mallet and Owen Walker were providing excellent width with Dan Pearson now keeping the midfield ticking over. Harwich added a further 3 goals in the second half, Josh Pearce and Sam Cooke with a further 2. Special mention must go to Sam Cooke and his top left hand corner free kick. CCA did grab a late consolation goal but harwich’s total dominance and sportsmanship definitely shone through.
Harwich 8- 1 CCA.
Sam Cooke scores 4 and gains man of the match.
