Lead Learning Support Assistant

Job Title: Lead Learning Support Assistant
Pay Range: Scale 5 Spine 8-11 (Actual annual salary from £13,472 – £14,297)
Start Date: As soon as possible
The Role:

We are seeking an outstanding individual to provide support for SEND students, and the school, in order to raise standards of achievement for all pupils, to encourage pupils to become independent learners, to ensure their safety and welfare and support the inclusion of pupils in all aspects of school life.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

· To work with individual pupils and groups, under the direction of the SENCo, including the provision of alternative curriculum pathways in order to raise achievement for SEND students.

· To contribute to the planning and evaluation of learning activities, including One Planning as part of the APDR cycle, for individuals and groups, liaising with and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues.

· To act as coordinator to other teaching assistants.

· Experience of working with children in a similar position.

· Is adaptable, receptive to new ideas and willing to adjust to new demands and circumstances.

· Has ability to liaise confidently with students and staff, and understands when information must be passed onto Line Manager.

Assistant Site Manager

Pay Range: Local Government Band Scale 6 (Point 12-17) £22,183 – £24,491

Start Date: As soon as possible

The Role:

We are seeking an outstanding individual to carry out a range of facilities duties including security and supervision of the site, cleaning and maintenance, porterage and to deputise for site manager when required.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

• Carry out preventive maintenance and first line repairs as instructed

• Ensure that all areas within the site are free from litter and that all drains and gullies are free-flowing and clean.

• Ensure the prompt movement of all goods and equipment to the appropriate areas.

We’re looking for you if you have:

• Experience of caretaking and/or buildings maintenance and security

• Ability to undertake DIY tasks

• Is adaptable, receptive to new ideas and willing to adjust to new demands and circumstances

Harwich and Dovercourt High School offers initial teacher training in collaboration with North Essex Teacher Training (NETT). Harwich and Dovercourt High School is able to support trainee teachers in almost all subject areas and successful completion of initial teacher training will lead to the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). We have experienced mentors and trainers across all faculty areas and as a school we believe strongly that this is a learning environment for all its stakeholders. As such we welcome trainee teachers and support them throughout their time on the staff.

For non-salaried and salaried trainees, the PGCE qualification, which includes 60 Masters level credits, is also awarded on completion. Courses leading to QTS only are also available.
