Dear Parent/Carer,

As we approach the end of the autumn term and the end of 2023, I thank you for your ongoing support. I am writing to you to inform you of the start times for the new term.
On Monday January 8th 2024, all students will have a late start of 10.30am and must go straight to their form room for tutor time of 30 minutes, during which we will give a clear overview of some amendments to the BfL policy and protocol which have come directly from student voice comments. At 11am the students will go to a shortened P2 lesson (it will be week B of the timetable) which will finish at the normal time of 11.45am and the rest of the day picks up as normal from there. The student gates will opened at 10.25am for the arrival of students. Staff will be in school from 8am so should you need to contact the school, please do so in the usual way.
The main items we will be reminding students of during the tutor time on 8th January will be the need for good attendance and effort during lessons and a shift in the time that detentions will run which will avoid after school slots where possible.
Information regarding these detentions will be sent via email and text to parents only (not to students) so please ensure you keep us up to date with your contact details and please support the school by discussing these messages with your child. Please can I take this opportunity to remind you of the Home School Agreement Policy . If you haven’t already downloaded the Satchel:One app, please ensure you do as this will have all the information you need about your child to stay on top of their in school activity.

Please remember our Preparedness Agenda and discuss with your child how to show they are prepared to belong by wearing the correct uniform. This includes a tie worn properly with their shirt tucked in and their blazer on. No trainers, leggings, hooded sweatshirts or other sweatshirts are permitted anywhere on site. We will always support in obtaining uniform items without question if this is causing you concerns, please just contact the pastoral teams. Additionally, of course, any new presents of mobile phones that may be received over the Christmas period must be in bags and switched off upon returning to school (and the old ones too!)
And finally, a reminder that all students are expected to have a reading for pleasure book with them at all times.
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas period and I look forward to your continued support in the new year.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Finch
