Yesterday the Harwich and Dovercourt High School had a DEAR (drop everything and read) day across the school. This is to incorporate a reading activity into lessons. Students bring a reading book or magazine with them on this day, so reading exercises can take place.
Any type of text counts, so whether its reading from a text book, allowing students time to read from their own library books, or sharing subject-related articles from The Day.
Taking part helps promote the value of reading.
