Dear Parents/Carers of Year 11 Students
Pre Public Examinations (PPE) Revision Topics
To assist with revision for the PPEs we have provided all our Year 11 students with the topics that will be assessed in the upcoming examinations. I wanted to provide you with the same information electronically, which can be found here:
Revision Breakfasts
To support students preparing for the PPEs on the 14th, 16th and 18th we will be hosting a revision breakfast. This replicates our typical practice in the Summer exam series. Students will be able to attend the Lighthouse from 8 am where they can eat a free breakfast whilst completing a few mathematics questions as a warm up activity. Their Maths teachers will be present to support the warm up and answer any last minute question.
Sparx
We have generated 15 hours worth of homework, broken down into 1 hour chunks for each week. This feature is called ‘Compulsory Homework’. Each chunk can be completed at any point during that week and their progress is monitored as a simple percentage. There is potential for motivated students to access a further 15 hours through additional tasks. This feature is named ‘XP Boost’ and ‘Target’ This will help students to achieve higher grades.
The site will keep you updated on the progress of your child towards the goal of completing the 15 hours via email. It is thoroughly recommended that students seeking to achieve their predicted grades complete their 1 hour per week in the lead up to their exams. Students have received information on how to gain access and should have completed 3 hours of revision using the site already.
Yours sincerely,
Mr J Bacon
