Letter from the Headteacher re Face Masks and Covid Testing

Letter from the Headteacher re Face Masks and Covid Testing
November 29, 2021 Belinda Gosling

Dear Parent/Carer,

You will have no doubt seen the announcements over the weekend about the wearing of face masks in shops and on public transport as from Tuesday and the testing of students in schools in January.  As such, please can you discuss this evening with your child the importance of following these guidelines and the reasons for them. Please find a link here from the Government website to aid your discussion.  From tomorrow we will be strongly recommending that students and staff wear facemasks in the communal areas of school such as the hall and the corridors: this is to avoid the need to return to bubbles and separate spaces.  The arrangements for testing in January are yet to be finalised and so I will write to you closer to the end of term to update you fully with these.
Students should continue to use Lateral Flow Tests (LFTs) at home twice per week in order to minimise the risk of spreading infection.  LFTs continue to be available from school for your child to collect from their tutor when necessary.
Thank you for your ongoing support in these matters.
Yours faithfully
Mrs Finch
Headteacher
