Dear Parents/Carers
Just a reminder that all students; unless exempt due to medical reasons, should be bringing a face covering to school every day. Students are expected to wear a face covering while travelling around the building; including queuing in the canteen, and must keep it on until they are either inside a classroom, outside in the open air or eating during break and lunch times.
Government advice is that coronavirus usually spreads by droplets from coughs, sneezes and speaking. These droplets can also be picked up from surfaces, if you touch a surface and then your face without washing your hands first. This is why social distancing, regular hand hygiene, and covering coughs and sneezes is so important in controlling the spread of the virus.
The best available scientific evidence is that, when used correctly, wearing a face covering may reduce the spread of coronavirus droplets, helping to protect others. Because face coverings are mainly intended to protect others, not the wearer, from coronavirus they are not a replacement for social distancing and regular hand washing. It is important for students to regularly wash their hands and use the hand sanitizer dispensers around the site.
Your assistance with this would be much appreciated.
Yours faithfully
Mrs Finch
