Harwich and Dovercourt High School Year 8 boys Rugby team played their first coastal schools league game of the season. Harwich started at an awesome pace and before Manningtree even touched the ball Regan Constable had scored the first try of the game. This set the scene for a very impressive, dominant and controlled game by Harwich. Ioan Woodward continued his fine form from last season scoring a couple of superb sole tries. Alex Ashworth the ever present winger also chipped in with a couple of tries. Harry Pitham continued to pull the strings as scrum half, dominating the play and using the ball excellently. Manningtree never really came close to scoring due to the excellent work from Joe Sewell, Joe Henderson, Matt Morgan and Morgan Campbell. Every scrum and ruck we seemed to win. Ronnie Robson making his league debut was unlucky not to score, he knocked the ball on before scoring. Unfortunately due to circumstances out of our control, the game had to be abandoned due to an injury on the other pitch. The game was stopped 5 minutes into the second half. Harwich’s rampant display meant the score ended up 55-0. Well done on a great league start gents.
Man of the Match was Regan Constable.
