The Year 8 Football team travelled to Manningtree in high sprits following a good win against Clacton Coastal Academy. That sprit was evident as Harwich took the lead through Sam Cooke. Harwich were unlucky not to double the lead when Jack James combined with Sam Cooke whose effort was well saved by Manningtree’s keeper. Manningtree then hit back and scored 3 goals in quick succession making the score 3-1 at half time.
Harwich tried to start the second half strongly with Kyle Mallet, Josh Wells and Harvey Smith all making great tackles to win their 50/50 battle. Despite the efforts Manningtree scored another 2 goals as Harwich was trying to get themselves back into the game. Performance was good and with some focused training the team will be ready for their next tough game against Tendering.
