Year 7 win Rugby League
November 5, 2015 hdhsadmin

The Year 7 Rugby team played their final league game of the season at home to Clacton County High. Lots of parents and teachers came out to support the team who were bidding to keep up their 100% winning record and win the league. The team started extremely strongly with Alex Ashwood scoring inside 30 seconds with his first carry. This really opened the flood gates with Harwich playing some exceptional Rugby. Jenson Adams and Cameron Burgeman were constantly putting Clacton under pressure in the break downs and this lead to Alex scoring a further 2 tries to complete his hat-Trick inside 5 minutes. Matt Morgan and Morgan Campbell were solid in the centre and this pressure again lead to Ioan Woodward ripping the ball from Clacton to add a fourth. Just on half time Harvey Bennett scored a superb try assisted by Harrison Hunt.

In the second half the boys started the game equally as strong as the first half. Liam Atkins assisted Harrison Hunts try. This was followed by further tries for Harvey Bennett, Joe Sewell and Alex Ashworth. This completed the scoring to hand Harwich a 10 tries to 0 victory. Harvey Bennett was awarded man of the match for a excellent wing display. I was most pleased with the team as there were some new try scores and 4 players making league debuts.

This means Harwich have won the league convincingly scoring 39 tries and only conceding 1. Well done on the hard work, team spirt and excellent results.
