Harwich started well straight from the off and with some great runs from captain Jacob Parker and Keenan Brown Harwich drove Clacton into their own half. Harrison Mann stole the ball from out of a ruck and sprinted 35 meters to score Harwich’s first try and set the tempo of the game. From the next kick off Harwich again went on the front foot with driving runs from Floyd Barker and Tyler Beezley. Harwich’s passing game was superb and the ball was spun wide to Sivanjan Sivakumar who breezed past 4 players to score the first of his three tries.
For the next try some great ruck play from Taylor Warner say the ball popped out to Jack Cheverall who sprinted the length of the pitch being chased by half of the Clacton Dide to touch down for Harwichs 3rd. Harwichs defensive line and ruck play earns them field position and made it very hard for the Clacton team to break through however one missed tackle resulted in them scoring next. Warner was next on the score sheet with a break down the win from a turnover ball. Charlie Geezler had a stormer of a game bagging himself two tries from number 8 and taking a knock in the first 10minutes.
Calum Chambers showed great sportsmanship and stepped into play for the opposition as they were a man down and he stood out with some excellent tackling and defensive work. Late on in the game Harwichs passing game took a back foot as players tried to get over the line and Harwich really should of hit double figures for tries scored. Next weeks game will prove to be a make or break match as Harwich host TTC with two wins from two games it is all to play for. Man of the Match went to Beezley for his hard work around the park and Chambers for his excellent sportsmanship and outstanding tackling playing for the opposition.
