Year 13 Media students create short clips

Year 13 Media students create short clips
February 27, 2015 hdhsadmin

For their Media coursework, Year 13 students had to create, film, edit and produce an ident for a television channel of their choice. An ident, or channel ID, is the short 30-60 second clips that stations or networks use to identify themselves on-air, typically by means of a call sign, brand name or logo.

Students had to research existing idents as well as research the history of the chosen channel of their choice to ensure they created a clip that suited the genre, style and target audience.

To make this task even more challenging, they had to use stop motion animation to create these videos! They experimented with a variety of different methods such as Claymation, objection animation or brickmation. To create one second of stop motion animation, it takes 24 photos! So some students had to take over 1440 photos to create a clip that lasted a minute! It is a very time consuming task that required a lot of patience and a steady hand.

The finished work is excellent, with some videos reaching a near professional standard! You can view the finished videos here
