4 tries from Jack James, 2 from Captain Harvey Smith and 1 from Will Miller.
Man of match went to Harvey Rotchell, Harvey Smith, Darrion Cooper and Jack James.
Harwich started the game with excellent structure and team work. The rucking from the forwards was excellent with Charlie Brough, Jacob Jackson and Elliot Neville working extremely hard at the breakdown. This allowed the backs to play free flowing Rugby and open up Clacton out wide. Tries soon came with James and Smith scoring early in the first half. Cooper and Rotchell played to Harwich’s passing game plan and found space out wide for James to run in further tries. Will Miller also got in on the action with a great try bursting through 3 tackles.
In the second half Harwich lost their structure and were not competing for the ball and this allowed Clacton back in the game with their powerful prop running through a broken defence to score bringing them back into the game. With not long to go Harwich got back on their game plan and it showed as again tries were scored out wide, Joe May creating a further try for James in the corner. A scrappy game but when Harwich played to their game plan they were untouchable.
