On Thursday the 8th of May, year 10 Media and Dance students had the exciting opportunity to watch the filming of the auditions for Sky 1’s Got To Dance in London’s Roundhouse, Camden.
Students were able to witness first-hand how a television show is created as well as watch some incredible dance performances! The competition is really tough this year and only acts with 3 gold stars are allowed through to the next round of call backs.
Out all the acts we watched, only 3 managed to make it through, including Daniel, the shows very first male contemporary pole dancer! Unsuccessful acts included Jean, a 67 year old grandma who “danced” to Pharrell Williams song “Happy,” who only auditioned so she could dance with judge Ashley Banjo – to which he happily obliged and danced with her on stage!
The trip was a massive success and our students were, by miles, the best behaved school in the audience. They were a credit to the school and we were extremely proud to have been able to take them on this trip.[widgetkit id=2052]
